1. Information BuddyPort stores
BuddyPort stores the player-entered traveler or Buddy name, selected Buddy, shirt colors, skill upgrades where available, settings, Traveler XP, Travel Coins, Travel Stars, power-up inventory and loadout, companions, daily and weekly mission progress, destination progress, rewards, Passport stamps, albums, sailing records, and Best Runs. On iOS, the Buddy team shares one Traveler level, wallet, supplies, and adventure journey, while each Buddy keeps its own skill upgrades and shirt color. Android currently uses separate Buddy profiles. This information is used only to operate the game, restore progress, and display the player’s adventure. BuddyPort does not require a BuddyPort account.
2. Storage by platform
BuddyPort saves game progress locally in the app’s private storage on the player’s device.
iPhone and iPad: When iCloud and CloudKit are available, eligible progress may also be stored in the player’s private iCloud account so it can stay in sync across their Apple devices. If iCloud is unavailable, BuddyPort remains playable using local storage. Apple processes iCloud data under Apple’s privacy terms.
Android: Progress is stored only on the current device. BuddyPort does not upload Android gameplay data to BuddyPort servers, and cloud backup and cross-device transfer are disabled. The Android edition does not use iCloud or CloudKit.
3. One-time purchases
BuddyPort is free to download. All nine Buddies are free on iOS; Android currently includes six free Buddies. All nine Island Voyage destinations are free on iOS and Android. Optional purchases are permanent non-consumables with no recurring fee, gameplay currency, or automatically earned progress. BuddyPort does not receive or store payment card details.
iPhone and iPad: Full Adventure unlocks premium Local and International routes and eight premium Metro Manila destinations. The separate Luzon Adventure Pass unlocks ten premium North and South Luzon destinations. Neither purchase includes the other; legacy Full Adventure access does not grant the Luzon pass. Island Voyage is free and purchase-independent. Apple processes purchases through the App Store. StoreKit displays localized prices, verifies each entitlement independently, restores purchases, and checks eligible original app versions for legacy access. Verified access is cached locally, but App Store entitlements remain the source of truth.
Android: Google Play Billing displays product information, checks purchase status, acknowledges purchases, and restores eligible products. Access is cached locally; the eligible purchase associated with the player’s Google account determines entitlement. Product and feature availability may differ by platform.
4. No advertising or tracking
BuddyPort does not use advertising, third-party analytics, cross-app tracking, or tracking identifiers. BuddyPort does not sell player information or provide gameplay data to advertising or analytics companies.
5. Security and player controls
Local progress is kept in operating-system-protected app storage. On iOS, players choose a teammate, upgrade skills, and customize shirts from Buddies, and change their traveler name in Settings. Changing teammates does not delete shared missions or stamps. Android currently supports editing and deleting separate Buddy profiles. Players can control music, sound effects, and haptics from Settings. Apple device users can manage BuddyPort’s iCloud access through their Apple Account settings.
6. Deleting progress and purchase access
Reset All Progress returns the app to onboarding and cannot be undone.
iPhone and iPad: Reset erases the shared journey, Buddy upgrades and outfits, and Travel Wallet. When iCloud is available, the reset syncs to the player’s other Apple devices. Removing the app deletes local data, but synced data may remain in private iCloud storage. Players can reset synced progress before removing the app and manage stored data using iCloud controls. Resetting or removing the app does not cancel, refund, combine, or remove eligible Full Adventure or Luzon Adventure Pass access. Restore Purchases recovers eligible access. Apple handles billing and refunds.
Android: Deleting a Buddy removes that profile’s progress. Reset All Progress clears all local gameplay progress. Uninstalling the app or clearing app data also removes local progress, which cannot be restored because Android cloud backup and device transfer are disabled. These actions do not refund or remove eligible purchases associated with the player’s Google account. Restore Purchases recovers eligible access. Google handles billing and refunds.
7. Apple and Google services
Apple processes App Store purchases, StoreKit entitlement information, and private iCloud data under Apple’s privacy terms. Google processes Google Play purchases and entitlement information under Google’s privacy terms. BuddyPort does not provide gameplay information to advertising or analytics companies.
8. Children’s privacy
BuddyPort is designed to minimize data collection. A Buddy name can be a nickname and does not need to be the player’s real name. The game does not ask players to provide an email address, precise location, contacts, photos, payment card details, or an advertising identifier to play.
9. Developer, changes, and contact
BuddyPort is developed and published by Tristan Jules B. Rosales. We may update this policy as BuddyPort gains new features or platforms. Material changes will appear on this page with a revised effective date. Privacy questions can be sent to tristanrosales0@gmail.com.
